best of 2004

[belated] happy new year, everyone ;)

apologies for not having blogged for the past week. unbeknownst to me, there are some people who want me to blog/go online. well. i'm in the library, so isn't that pathetic.

anyway, there's this best of 2004 list that was undulating up in my head for the past few days which in i haven't blogged ever.

starting from the earliest i can snatch from my memories:

concerts. here's an urban legend: six people were playing magic at the orchestra room one day, when they were pulled out of class for tech rehearsal. they were all getting along happily, when suddenly and rather sneakily, the school's homosexual principal burst in the door and entered the room where the six magic players and two or so texters were staying. and so, he went off to ask the people what was going on, and the people replied the obvious response. and he was kind enough to confiscate the cellphones the non-magic players were using. so what was the urban legend part there? well, in order to get the cellphone back, the [male] owner must swallow, if you catch my drift.

[playing] in graduation. this is memz with julian only. we translated the whole pomp and circumstance for alto sax, given that i was the only alto sax present. jackie would've been the only clarinet present, but that other clarinet got in the way. lol. this was also the part where sir fajardo would actually leave us in the middle of the whole thing, and here's a quote to boot:

"your conductor abandoned ship!" - mrs. valencia

#galitjanvit. i really would like to say "need i say more?" but it's just too good to pass up. the field of dreams; the battleground of hearts; the movement against gays; the strengthening of friendships; those are all the things this once-legendary chatroom once symbolized. (what the heck, who am i kidding?) really, it was just something i started, and it was the chatroom of you, me, julian, jam, vicky, leiron, rod, and other assorted people. it was our summer pastime before we (among other people) discovered ym. (honestly.)

vacation in states. the thing that would most probably symbolize my vacation in the u.s. is the spongebob doll vicky has right now. (because i bought it for her in universal studios. but hey, i have another spongebob sitting at home.) i do remember setting my internal alarm clock to wake up at 3-4 a.m. in pacific time just to chat with everyone. i would wake up, check the digital clock, and haul (sometimes, i would crawl) my ass with my blanket, holding my dog tags just so that they won't clink unnecessarily, and move my way to the computer and turn on irc or ym. i did buy maroon 5 over there. problem is, i left the case in my tita's highlander. all i have is the cd.

first day of classes. not much, but the start of a new school year.

intrams. suffice it to say, i couldn't express this one enough. we should have been second place. you do not award second place to a group that has janvit in it. joking. all hilarity aside, i (and probably, other people) felt that we were working hard enough and balancing the scales of the gagu-gaguhan and the seryoso concepts of the dance too carefully to be awarded a mere third place. and, i really wanted to participate in the inter-batch. we were third place. bullshit. sam, thanks for running [just] to see our dance. i appreciate it. :P

act iv. "milady, she's dead! she's f.. *pause* dead!" yes, that's what we heard.

afternoon delight. honestly, before and when i stepped onstage, i never would've imagined that the auditorium would be packed. well, maybe because of the lack of activity outside, but there were a lot of supporters. (hi sir lasap and ms. rogador, sitting together in the right) but there was this nice bonding session before going onstage. "don't touch me!"

christmas party. the actual party in the s-b classroom was boring. but you have to hand it to leiron to become nervous with giving his gift, an [unwrapped] ferrero prestige pack. (it has ferrero, mon cheri, and that other sort of ferrero wrapped in silver). me? i just gave two balls and a bell of ferrero. (it took one person days to finish the whole thing, and another person just a single sitting to finish it all. can you guess who they are?)

okay, so that's my "best of 2004" blog. if i've missed anything, feel free to cast the first stone and tell me what memz lolz i have undeliberately missed.

love lots, pepseh ;)
