someone here still doesn't get it. i think.

*sigh* time for my usual freedom-of-speech-in-blogs rant.

see, i was reading mark's blog and i saw his latest post. although it may be a really old post (two months old), it got my adrenaline started because apparently - someone still doesn't get it. well, a part of it. it's on the topic of leiron and, you know.

here's what he posted (thankfully it's quite short):

NEVER!!...i repeat..NEVER!!...EVERR!!! PUT AN INSULT TO SOMEONE IN THE NET ESPECIALLY IF HES A SCHOOL OFFICIAL!!!! you might share she same fate as leiron did... kasi pwede kang makasuhan nito at makulong.. and another thing.. wag tatanga tanga pag nag susulat sa blog.. alam ko lag galit ka na gusto mong magwala sa iyong blog...pero naman.. isipin mo mababasa nang maraming tao iyan..at baka may mag sumbong kung may masamang meaning yan.. kaya dudes.. calm down lng..hehe..."

once more - i will dissect. the most scientific way to go.

ayan tingan nyo nalang ang napala nang aking kaibigan...muntikan na siyang ma kick out sa ginawa nya - that's just 75% of your facts, mark. leiron was never in the danger of getting kicked out.

tatanga tanga kasi - true.

hinde nya naisip na pag nakita iyon nang principal namin ay siya ay makakasuhan... - i've confirmed this a thousand and one times: under the right circumstances, and i assure you, leiron was under the right circumstances, you cannot, in a million years, be punished for this. yaps said it; blog at home. which he (leiron) did.

- you're saying we should screw the constitution? he was exercising freedom of speech; what leiron did was neither right nor wrong, it borders on the neutral. if the principal ever decided to punish leiron, that would be counted as a personal vendetta - and that wouldn't be very fair, now would it?

sabi nga nang tatay ko na pwede ka pa nga makulong sa mga gawaing ganyan! - if we were under marcos, yeah, it's possible. but that's a very big if (obviously).

kaya guys and girls...learn this lesson.. NEVER!!...i repeat..NEVER!!...EVERR!!! PUT AN INSULT TO SOMEONE IN THE NET - talk about a hypocrite. how come i see, "janvit bakla" in your blog? hehe - it's all good anyway.

ESPECIALLY IF HES A SCHOOL OFFICIAL!!!! - if very very necessary to do so only. see my paascu rants. factual example: i recall that the freshmen's (aka incoming sophomore) CL teacher loved to curse (a lot) during basketball games. what a huge hypocrite, man. (did i get that mr. delos santos correctly? it might be a different one, but i think that's him - not sir rolly though)

you might share she same fate as leiron did... kasi pwede kang makasuhan nito at makulong.. - does anyone else know that i was actually waiting for my turn? since i knew i would be caught sooner or later, i prepared a small diatribe. anyway, as said above, the last sentence is null and void.

and another thing.. wag tatanga tanga pag nag susulat sa blog.. alam ko lag galit ka na gusto mong magwala sa iyong blog...pero naman.. isipin mo mababasa nang maraming tao iyan..at baka may mag sumbong kung may masamang meaning yan.. kaya dudes.. calm down lng..hehe... - you can never tell someone how or what to write in his or her blog (unless the content drives the blog to the point where it is literally and/or figuratively unreadable. *ubo* julian was like that back then...) i believe that the weblog has risen to the level where it is considered a form of art, and it can be a masterpiece if you do it properly and in an entertaining way (and as a side note, i also believe that the most degenerate kind of blog is the blog that usually describes what happened during your day. the second most degenerate is the one that has a lot of spelling and grammar errors.). you cannot calm down when you absolutely have to write about someone you hate or when you have to express your joy. so if you read a blog and are thus offended, remember two things: you cannot change what is written, and the red x button is free to use.

lol. i guess all of you are used to this kind of rant already. sorry, i couldn't let it pass up :P

have a nice day ;)

insidious dreams

i had a weird dream last night, and it didn't happen once (it happened many times before). you see, the plotlines of this dream would not be extraordinary, except for one property that is strange enough in itself - the fact that my teeth would feel like i was wearing braces, although i would find that there were nothing on it. they also seem to be fixed in the dream world. when i would wake up, this feeling would disappear. i don't know how it would affect my teeth in the future, but at least, now i know how it feels to be wearing braces.

radio los santos

let me tell you, my head (brain, for that matter) is amazing. there's this radio that is internally controlled, and even i can't change its playlist. back when we were taking the algebra finals, i was constantly bugged by the playing of that old janet jackson song. now, it's playing 98 degrees - invisible man. i don't know why, though. i don't have excuses for most of the songs it plays.

with that said, let me also tell you that i've begun playing grand theft auto: san andreas. my stations of choice are radio los santos, csr, and master sounds 98.3 (good jazz).

"it ain't jeffrey no more! it's og loc! i'm gangsta now!"

my explanation on the edit part: okay, when i read his inbox (see, readers, you have to understand this point. i am a nosy pendejo. i can't resist.) i felt enormous sympathy for my brother that i did not know what i could possibly do with that emotion welled up inside. so, i wrote about it. i do know that it's exposed for the public to freely read, and there's another ulterior motive up that sleeve - i'm not a brother who just sits there without a care in the world when something wrong is happening to my siblings. they're family and they're homies. so, i may have been wrong in exhibiting my brother's affairs, but i thought i could do something by expressing my sympathy. but i found that i have done that wrong, and i sincerely apologize.

in any case, HILAW! is going to be updated tonight.

not fun. not fun at all.

i hate being sick. i fell ill due to some unknown reason (probably the un-summerish occasion of rain) and now - yeah, i have slight fever. what now? lying in the bed has its pros and cons - i found out that when i wasted my morning and late afternoon yesterday napping, sleep didn't bother me until 2 am. and, i theorized that i sweat much more when i'm on the pc.

(i thought sleep was supposed to help - i took a nap with a low temperature and woke up burning.)

i need a bath seriously - my hair looks like a crow nested on my head with wings outstretched. so, my hair measures 2 - 3 inches (side view). but if i do, that's like jumping on a lit stove.

and, not only that, but whenever i'm in bed and phim is on the pc, i have to stand his horrible singing. my god; i've never heard jopay sound so bad (the next worse thing would be pauline singing it) and awit ng kabataan sung so low. (i guess i'm the only one in this household can scream like that on a perfect day :D)

hey, at least i conquered china and korea, and i'm allied with mongolia. i will now attack france on my next scenario :D

remember, "no matter what, no matter when, no matter who, any man can sweep a woman off her feet - you just need the right broom." (wala lang.)

hitch with me here.

ah, thank you for your one-liners for the previous blog entry - i assumed that even if they're so minimalist and conservative, there's a lot of feeling under the skin.

anyway. i hope God blesses you with the gall to read this post.

yesterday, we had the usual gimmick to celebrate the beginning of summer. (although i couldn't claim for summer to have begun yet. in a few days' time, it will.) the activity in town that took up 70% of our time was the movie hitch. yea, it was enlightening, but it covered stuff i already knew about. but for those who weren't able to watch (let me say as a side note that my brother and his, um, friends, vicky you get the point, were watching with us in the other side of the theatre), let me get the point across for now.

first off, alex hitchens is what his clients call a "date doctor". (quite a profession for those in desperation.) oh, by the way, that's will smith, mind you, but you already knew that. anyway, i won't spoil any plot for you, but i will tell you the reason why he has a... this job.

there are some guys who are players, and there are some guys who are losers. now most players are jerks, most often looking for a one-night stand. (basic principle #2: don't imagine what she looks like naked.) now, those are the idiots who probably in the current metagame (read: the present) will not be able to score a lot because of their agenda, and those are the idiots mr. hitchens blatantly refuses to work with. why? because they're idiots.

as for the losers' side of the game, these people need hitch the most. (like me, but that's a different story already...) you see, unless you're a total thick-faced dumbass, you cannot just go up to a pretty girl you like and say,

"hi, my name is jan vitaliano mamawal, and i like you a lot. would you like to go out with me?"

no.

just no.

so you require a game plan, but not every person is capable enough of concocting a strategy so impressive and with flair to win, at least, the attention of the girl in your mind. (objective: shock and awe.) that's where will smi-- i mean, hitch, comes in. yeah, he'll help you do all those things and be your coach, as long as you keep one thing in mind: it's going to be long-term. no one-night stands. (sorry, giselle.)

now that i've mentioned that not every guy knows how to walk up to a girl and talk, here's where the other part comes in. there is a great fear among men that, when they ask a girl to [try and] commit to them, they will be rejected. this is the sole reason why boys are torpe. i know, i know, you girls will probably go, "how will you know if you don't try?" why? because we have this thing in us that annoys most people around guys, called the ego. (aka pride, reputation, etc.) now if you're rejected, your pride has been wounded, and that's not half as good. going back, this is where hitch helps you (the guy who is standing there feeling miserable of himself -- you know who you are, mr. ******. yes, i know you.) because you need help.

hitch: "i'm doing this so that the 'losers' have a fighting chance."

so please think about that whenever you're depressed and thinking that nobody loves you - you just need to know someone who actually does.

- you know very well the mixture of naphtalene and congo red.
- the name "corky" comes to your mind when the words "drugs" or "smoking" is mentioned.
- you greet divine a merry christmas.
- the name "nani" or "sol" comes to your mind when discussing fat and/or obesity.
- you count annamykell as one person.
- you bow before kim.
- you consider trig very important only in the college entrance exams.
- you eat whatever during FL.
- you have bonded throughout countless english practices.
- you sing along with nani or jimmo.
- you have a blog.
- you, along with 20+ other people, are excused for tech rehearsal.
- you can sing rivermaya, bamboo, sugarfree, e-heads, mayonnaise, and others.
- you find yourself eating candy (distributed by sir lasap) every time you take a final exam.
- you are disturbed by a "[insert number] minutes" from sir lasap whenever you're taking a final exam.
- you hear one of the teachers mention in class that this section is one of their favorites.
- you know who alan is.
- you will miss sophomore-b 2004-2005.

and finally:

- you are that damn good.

o sige, that's it. it's not the post i promised on the previous blog entry, but hey...

kani-kanina lang / best of 2004-2005

well, i guess i should wait before posting something like this on wednesday, but after being driven to the verge of tears (just the verge) by mama's farewell song, i realized that i just couldn't wait.

sophomore year has gone by with a blink of an eye. it seemed like yesterday that i:

*in no particular order*

- arrived at s-b early, finding that leiron and ping were already there. it seemed that sophomore-c's classroom underwent a flood due to the new aircons.

- was shouted at by mama for going to my locker and trying to get my pad paper.

- was pleasantly surprised to see sir tom back after days of suspense as to who the new teacher is. our speculations were ms. rica. (close enough.)

- had our recollection. i'm sorry angelic for crushing you with my sharp elbow :P

- had our outreach[es]. i guess everyone still remembers or has already forgotten about this one.

- had a string of practices for the intrams dance. i hope i'm not the only one still remembering the "naphtalene + congo red" mixture here...

- papa threatened to leave us for another section. but since we're so magnetic, i for one am glad that he changed his mind. imagine leaving *us*! heaven forbid!

- practicing for act four of romeo and juliet. what was annal's line again? what was it? i don't remember. can anyone help me out? did it go something like, "but we'll be short of food!"?

- afternoon delight's bonding memories.

- two concerts. "1.. 2.. 3.. 4! you talk too much..." haay. someone needs a circumcision. and lilo and steech. scroll down for previous blog entries ;)

- christmas party. I WANT AN "I LOVE SIR LASAP" SHIRT!!!

- "going back..."

and that's just what i remember right now. next week, i'll be throwing the last batch of quotes, since there is more comedy during finals exams (this is proven with evidence that i will show you on that particular blog entry.)

people who are exempted in all subjects, happy resting. (damn what a plug :P)

[EDIT] this edit is tailored to interest magic players. after the first paragraph, you won't know what i'm talking about if you do not play this game.

i was reading through my younger brother's diary (yes, I'm a nosy little goblin) and lo and behold, i found that he designed a couple of cards. they're seriously out of flavor (except for the first one), but the thing is, he designed some cards (even if he doesn't play magic.). mana sa kuya (i design cards and post them in the brainburst forums).

here they are, note that he wrote his own yu-gi-oh-inspired flavor text and adorned it with art that is very good in my standards:

Leonin Mutantkiller (there is no mana cost nor p/t, so let me fix it) - 3W
Creature - Cat Knight (?)

Whenever a Plains comes into play, Leonin Mutantkiller gets +0/+1 until end of turn.

Leonins have new enemies, mutants.
(what mutants?)
2/2

and the next one:

Leaden Goblin (again, no mana cost nor p/t, and looks more like a viashino if you ask me) - 2R
Creature - Goblin Warrior

First strike
Whenever an artifact an opponent controls is put into a graveyard from play, Leaden Goblin gets +0/+1 until end of tern.

If Humans have a captin, so do Goblins. (umm..yeah.)
2/2

anyway, it was I who corrected the oracle wording (you'd laugh if you saw the original wording). things like these make me so proud to be a kuya *tear* :P [/EDIT]

please join the OFFAL movement.

got this survey from vicky, who in turn, got this off friendster. may nagffriendster pa pala. anyway... (with added translation for fun and profit.)

Friendster Survey about school! (Prenster Sarbey Abawt Iskul/Sarbey sa "Friendster" Ukol sa Paaralan)

1. San ka naghighschool? (Where is your high school?) - La Salle Zobel.
2. fave mong tambayan sa skul? (What is your favorite standby area in school?) - Canteen. PA Office. Labas ng S-B. :P

4. kumakain ka sa canteen? (Do you eat in the canteen?) - If I am hungry, I will.
5. npalabas ka na ba sa library???
(Have you been kicked out of the library?) - I believe I was at some point.
6. eh sa classroom?? (What about the classroom?) - Yes! By Ms. Duco; because I left my book at home and I was poking fun at Rocky.
7. bumagsak ka na ba sa ibang subjects mo? (Have you failed your other subjects?) No. Just close calls.
8. ano fave mong subject? (What is your favorite subject?) As of now, Chemistry. Medyo biased, but hey, I'd also take Sir Pats's Comp Sci.
9. nag-cutting ka na ba khit mnsan? (Have you cut classes even sometimes? *note: direct translation.*) I believe I haven't. No good reason to.
10. nahuli ka na bang nangongopya?? (Have you been caught copying?) Not yet >=D
11. nwalan ka na ba ng cel sa skul? (Have you lost a cell in school?) Anong cell? Body cell? Brain cell? Skin cell? Cellphone? Never. Other types of cells, yeah. Brain cell mostly due to FL and LCLE.
12. eh money? (And money?) When I was a carefree little idiot kid who racked up honors. (Really, I used to.)
13. subject(s) u like least? (Paksang hindi mo nagustuhan?) As of now, Algebra.

17. mdmi ka ba admirers sa skul? (Have you many admirers in school?) I am not Professor X; how am I supposed to know?
18. cno partner mo nung js?? (Who was your partner during JS?) My partner in the non-existent JS prom for Sophomores is... I don't know. She doesn't exist.
19. lgi ka ba late? (Are you often late?) Only if giselle is holding up the line in the bookstore.
20. lgi ka ba absent? (Are you often absent?) If I'm ill. Pero sino ba gustong mag-absent?
21. du u wear ur id ol d tym? (Do you wear your ID all the time?) It rotted with my wallet, and rightfully so; it bears my ugly grade 6 mug. The yearbook pic was better, mind you.
22. how much do u spend daily? (Magkano ang iyong iginagasta araw-araw?) Let's see... a) Hot Shots for P45 and a large Mango Teazer for P22, that would make P67, b) Bacon Double-Decker for P39.50 and a large Mango Teazer for P22, making for P63.50, or c) Hot Shots for P45 and a Blue/Red/Orange Virgin for P20, making for P65. God, I miss the old Teazers guy; he would prepare my drink before I even said a word. At least Priscilla still knows my preferred condiments.
23. have a crush on a student teacher? (Ikaw ba'y nagkagusto sa isang batang guro?) Ehh... no. Yaps, is our plan to beat up the P.E. teacher still on?
24. do u write legibly? (Matino ba sulat mo?) More legible than most guys. Only slightly more legible than Chris.
25. use cel inside ur room? (Gumamit ng selpon sa loob ng silid-aralan?) If I forgot to turn it off.
26. mdmi ka ba nkktang magxota sa skul? (Do you see many loving couplse in school?) Do I really have to cough here?
27. ilan dnadla mo notbuks? (How many notebooks do you bring?) A lot. Russell, remember Tomes I and II? I still haven't gotten around finishing Tome of Ages I. It's sad.
28. eh books? (And books?) Is my paperback copy of RotK still rotting in my bag?
29. canteen or library? If there were PCs at the canteen and everyone was on the Brainburst Forums or playing MODO. MODO, not Ragnarok. (Magic Online with Digital Objects.)
30. absent or cut classes? Absent.
31. write or listen? (Sulat o makinig?) Write in the book. By the way; fozzy, we have one last week to finish book 2. Unless one of us is willing to write over the summer.
32. sec 1 or 2? If 1 is equivalent to A and 2 equivalent to B and so on and so forth, then I would have to be section 2.
33. no teachers or no classes? Teachers like papa.
34. ballpen or pencil? Ballpen. Especially the engraved one Ryan got me for Christmas.
35. writing lectures or writing nonesense things? Nonsense things on the notebook.

and i guess that's that. ;)

it just sucks. period.

after muntinlupa day, we step inside the classroom. everything goes well until we hit algebra. it seems that ms. ortiguero has been ordered to give us these worksheets about overpopulation. it goes on in filipino, english, and cl. (there always seems to be a fruitful discussion in english. lol.) heck, it goes on in t.h.e., and lo and behold, we were crestfallen as ms. ruiz announces more worksheets. (at least she has enough heart to discuss it with us! unlike ortiguero; she just leaves us to our own devices.)

to be honest, at first, i thought it seemed interesting (maybe because the first activity was going to the CAI lab, sir porn's territory). during the next day, in the damned worksheet #2 in algebra, we were all annoyed because we do not like analyzing bad mimeos of graphs. at least, ortiguero was aware that we all hated worksheet #2.

the only LCLE i liked was the one about modernistic poems.

it has already been confirmed that the innovator of this useless teaching strategy is the dear principal (yet againnnnnnnn. although i do not enjoy ranting about you anymore, i am once again compelled to.) and it was clear that the teachers didn't like it too. (i, for one, noticed this already in the tone of ortiguero's voice. and another thing; i've just been informed that this teaching strategy was recommended by the paascu.) why must the HEAD of the whole damned administration be a puppet of the PAASCU? and he/she/it told the teachers (when they were voicing out their negative feedback) that they should try it for 2-3 days before complaining.

guess what: we've tried it, and we didn't like it. we did not learn anything except that the philippines is an overpopulated dump. i'd like to see you sit in one of our armchairs (not mine, though) and take the carpets of worksheets given to us. please. i dare you.

graphing the population growth rate is useless. learning info about contraceptives is rather useful.

anyway, i'll let it go since it's the first time something unfortunate like this has happened to us. the next time you want to get a point across, do not give us carpets of worksheets. tell us we're so overpopulated and we need to cut it down, and we'll believe you.

"hindi kami narito para makipag-kan.......chawan!"

"Matigas! Malaki! Mo-la-ve!"
"Molave troop, next time, please state what that phrase is referring to."

"PRRAKTIS!!!"

Probably the most adrenaline rush-inducing part of the whole camp was visiting the Maze and the statues at night.

Us: "'Di ka namin kilala, Dom!"

"Sa Monday, walang kaibigan at walang kilala si Dom."

Juts: "Dom, ang kupal mo! Natatakot na ako! Tama na!"

Dom: "Kung hihilahin ko mga paa niyo, magsisigawan naman kayo lahat."

"PRRAKTIS!!!"

Tito Nick: "Let me introduce to you my son, Neil."
*palakpakan*

We were observing a boa constrictor during its feeding time (by way of a hen), but it won't eat it.

"Talikod tayo, baka ayaw niyang kainin dahil nasstage fright siya!"

And probably, this morning's round of Coach Hans jokes that leiron, undoubtedly, pushed too far once more.

"'Pag si Coach Hans nasa navy, sasabihin niya sa mga recruits, 'Swim five laps across the world... in six minutes!' Tapos konti na lang naiwan eh. Sasabihin ng naiwan eh, "Sir, may nadaanan kaming shark eh!" "Shark? Very good!""

And some flashplayer.com quotes:

Sauron: "I shall rule the world!!! But first, I'll check my mail.

Bill (poof), bill (poof), *gasp* 20% off laundry detergents?! *manic glare* TIDE!!! the one detergent to rule them all!"

I've found a new friend in revin's older brother kuya lenin, and hey, he's just fun, and tito pete (diomampo) now knows who i am.

Anaconda quotes:

"You knew a guy who knew a guy? Urban myth." - Mitchell (serves as a warning for those people who tell me unusual stories. and stop passing the fake yahoo! warnings around; they're quite annoying already.)

Dom: "Ang baduy naman kung ang babae kinakain."

Me: "Hahaha. Pinagpipiyestahan ng anaconda."

And probably the most thought-provoking quote (heard in a skit):

"Teka, mga kasapi! Bago kayo lumipad, tukain niyo muna itong inihain kong concentrate! Marami itong protina na pampatigas at pampalaki!"

Hmm. Bird viagra.

for the love of Richard Garfield

okay, alvin has read and reacted to my apology. i must say i do not have anything to say anymore to his reaction but two small things:

- the topic of that blog wasn't about you. it was about my thoughts on the question given during that particular fil discussion many weeks ago.

and this:

"Well pahabol ko lng this is not related sa blog pero sana naman PEPI MORAN if you’re annoyed with a person wag mo sana syang duruin(don’t point at him) sa noo at tulakain na gigil na gigil parabang pagaari mo ang buong imbornal ng amerika Europa at Saudi Arabia because I saw you doing that to Dianne m. (sorry Dianne M. if nadamay ka).. pero it’s not right specially babae un. And I know na you think na stupid si Dianne I heard you many times saying that pero sana respect her naman as a girl maybe she’s clumsy pero tao parin yan at dapat mong respitohin."

in truth, i have respect for dianne. i'm only joking around with her and i know she gets it that we joke around (in truth, leiron is the one usually pushing the dianne jokes very far). i only say that dianne is "stupid" whenever she does something wrong (usually out of distraction). i don't think dianne is stupid, i just think that she gets distracted a lot, and i obviously know that she already has enough problems to go along with. i would actually stop joking around and teasing that woman if she requests me to (obviously, when she has had enough and has no mood for more [no malice!]). pero wala namang problema sa kanya eh.

anyway, that's it, probably. father and son related content will come soon later.

dreameth the good dream.

okay, i'm here at home. all day yesterday i was feeling sick (mostly due to the freezing cold of the av1, where me, annal, and ping took make-up CEM tests). and now, since i'm sweating, i feel slightly better.

congrats to all orchestra members. we still have another concert on monday. ngayon kasama na ang strings :P

the only parts of the concert i enjoyed playing is the liloh and steech medley. for those who weren't able to watch, it's a compilation of songs from the movie, including songs of elvis presley's songs (including his song, hand dog! wow! :D). for those sorry people who were unable to watch the movie itself, it was about a little hawaiian girl and a strange blue alien who became the best of a friends. (interesting! :P)

kawawa naman ang mama. ang galing nyang mag-english sa classroom but she failed in this concert. of all people to leave out the national anthem. very disappointing performance from her.

father and son bukas! hopefully, i don't get into a fistfight during the whole thing, but if ever i do, i won't be afraid to lose all my upper teeth.

sincerest apologies

first off, i'd like to copyright and correct the ad. intellectual license goes to vicky (i still hate you :P), and correction: it's on feb 23 and 28.

anyway, my explanation for this post's title is due to the following comment on my post titled okay, that was a letdown:

"hoy pepi wag mo na nga ilagay ung name ko sa blog mo! naninitra ka lng e! ang feeling mo ah! as if naman may sinasabi kang mabuti! and ung story sa fil sinabi mo ba lahat? hinde! the question is pakakasalan ko ba ung babae kahit na nde mo sya magal.. ang sagot ko no! pero nde ko naman siya iiwan! live in muna para masubukan ung pagmamahal namin... kc baka sa huli kami rin ang magsisi! wala kaong sinabing iiwan ko yung babae kasama ng sperm cell ko! shit ka! tumigil ka na nga!" - Alvin

(jam, if you're reading this, i'd like to say that you're right in saying that even i don't want to be offended.)

okay, back to the topic at hand.

let me dissect the comment and reply to it one step at a time.

hoy pepi wag mo na nga ilagay ung name ko sa blog mo - you cannot merely request me to do this. i will lay off you most of the time but when need be, you can be sure that i will call you out.

naninitra ka lng e! - i will admit now that this is my personal problem with you.

ang feeling mo ah! - i have to ask, di ka rin ba feeling? doesn't your feeling-ness justify the fact that your face is plastered all over your blog? and where did "theGreat" and "delicious" come from? isn't it the product of your own feeling-ness too? so why do you say that in your comment in a hateful way? di ka rin ba feeling? (yes, i know that's the second time.)

as if naman may sinasabi kang mabuti! - mabuti about what, may i ask? if you mean in general, i may not be nice nor pleasant at times, but i can be funny, which is the mood that i usually deliver with my blogs.

and ung story sa fil sinabi mo ba lahat? hinde! the question is pakakasalan ko ba ung babae kahit na nde mo sya magal.. - yes, i did. if i may quote from the post: "if you impregnated your girlfriend, would you marry her? there's also a catch: you guys aren't getting along very well. (meaning, you're having arguments before you guys are even married.)" doesn't the last two sentences roughly translate to "hindi mo mahal"? and besides, ms. rogador did not mention anything about love -- she said that you guys don't get along. that doesn't necessarily mean love is absent.

ng sagot ko no! pero nde ko naman siya iiwan! live in muna para masubukan ung pagmamahal namin... kc baka sa huli kami rin ang magsisi! wala kaong sinabing iiwan ko yung babae kasama ng sperm cell ko! - this is where i will admit that i am wrong. i am sorry alvin, i have misunderstood your statement; i have spoken without fully absorbing what you've said (like leiron, who classified music as rich music and poor music). i am fully mistaken in this part.

shit ka! - i thought i said that if people were going to flame me, they should think of something better than "shit ka". at least, you wrote a well thought-out comment to go along with it.

tumigil ka na nga! - i'm afraid i couldn't do this. if ever you don't agree with anything i post (which you have done before), there is always the "X" button in the upper-right hand corner of the window. it's free for you to click, you don't have to pay anything. at least, you show thy ignorance.

and there, is my apology and my retort. i now expect a flood of "i told you so"'s from fozzy in my comment box.

or something like that.

i keep on finding-finding you / "itaas na ang mga kamay!!!"

taken from the super-duper-faloofer-secret blog that we don't want you to know about.

Addicted to you
A song to me
You must be tired of my long stories
About you and happiness
And what you do to my life
You've become the star of my daydreams

[chorus]
In the morning and at night, and in every passing minute
I keep on searching for you,
I keep on searching for you
On my mind and my dreams; whenever fate stops for a moment
I keep on searching for you

Attached to you
Even all afternoon,
When we're together, just like in the movies,
And in our ending
I'll walk you home
And with a goodnight
And a kiss,
And one last goodbye

[spoken]

As I try hard to forget you,
I always seem to find
Your voice singing your song
Whenever the rain falls
And our Sundays spent with each other
They're seemingly forgotten
And your heart that suddenly left me
Is with someone else, oh

In the morning and at night, and in every passing minute
I keep on searching for you,
I keep on searching for you
On my mind and my dreams; whenever fate stops for a moment
I keep on searching for you
I keep on searching for you
At school, during the flag ceremony; until our classes end
I keep on searching for you
I keep on searching for you
Even if you'll bear a child and get married someday,
I'll still be searching for you
I'll still be searching for you.

so, i've gotten around to downloading regine v.'s version of the song. it's slower, more relaxing, more achoustic, and i couldn't tell which is more beautifuller. (parang most easiest filipino quiz.)

ang version ni mama regine:

- the last six lines of the original song are missing. apparently she has graduated from high school.
- there is a longer achoustic intro.
- the most beautiful part of the song, the spoken part, is MISSING. why she didn't do it with her heavenly voice is way beyond me.
- her voice is: beautiful, hypnotic, trance-inducing (synonymous to hypnotic), angelic, and heavenly. tarantacious ako habang pinapakinggan ko eh :D
- walang bass guitar.
- she pronounces the first word of the third line as "nilang". at least, that's what i heard.

anyway, on to serious stuff.

thank you to everyone who went to last night's sophomore night. i guess i also have to thank the people who were feeling KJ enough not to dance *ubo*diannemadamba*ubo* *ubo*annamykell*ubo* *ubo*alvinparondase7en*ubo* (sorry malala ang aking ubo :P). without your attendance, there very well may not have been at least, a mediocre success of a party.

at least, fozzy had a good reason not to attend. what about you?

the roses gave out were rather pointless. i gave mine to sarah because my kringlemate didn't attend. i think i was scratched by the thorns. i'm rather lucky, compared to michael who had his hand wounded by the flower. :P

playing "happy" by squareheads for the nth time is really an effective strategy to reclaim the people to the floor. 'ika ko nga pagdating ng chorus, "itaas na ang mga kamay!!!"

roses are #FF0000, violets are #0000FF

-patlang - by me -

I reach to the reality of thought
But grab nothing.

I wish to look through a window of verse
Yet see nothing.

Searching frantically through mindful air
Upon finding brilliant silence,
Flinging the pen,
closing the book,
rising from the chair,

I finally find
meaning.

---

anyway, i hope you had a happy valentine's. mine was rather mediocre :P okay, it was dull. but you should go ask fozzy, hers was amazing :P i have yet to learn about other people's valentine's, for they must be stories of great interest.

overheard.

pauline (during a test): "sir, nasa'n sa periodic table ang CN*?"

(* - CN is cyanide, with a superscript of -1. it's a compound of carbon and nitrogen, two different elements which could be found on the table itself.)

pauline (again): "sir, ano ulit ang symbol ng carbon?"
sir lasap: "hay nako pauline, naka-ilang problems na tayo na may carbon. ang symbol n'yan ay CN! *sarcasm*"

someone in the back: "sir, ang hirap ng quiz!"
sir: "mahirap ba? bakit si ping naka 17/20? bakit si pepi naka 20/20?"
me *to anna*: "wag kang hihirit!"

me *to rod*: "shit!" (points at sir tom, and runs. rodney follows)
- after five to ten seconds...
yaps: "teka! hintayin n'yo ko!" (also running)

ryan: "last night was a sad night. so many bombings."
leiron: "onga. yung five-year-old natamaan ng shrapnel."
me *staring blankly*: "kawawa naman yung bata, naka-5 damage."

*yaps doing the chicken dance*
me to leiron: "yaps is a cock."

me: "sis, kung magpakalbo ako, papatayin mo ba ko?"
vicky: "oo."
*no explanation necessary*

yaps: "cake! cake! cake!"
vicky: "yaps, you'll get cake later."
yaps: "cake! cake! cake!"
me: *holding back yaps* "yaps mamaya na!"

yaps: "i want the 'happy' part."
me: "i'm getting the 'day' part. wait, asan na yung mga maliliit na flowers na masarap kainin?"
yaps: "onga, asan na yung mga maliliit na flowers na masarap kainin? wala tayong toothpick!"

---

anyway, that's it. valentine's 2005 was a bore for me, because i have no valentine = because no one crushes on me. thank you sis, for your card. ipasign mo yung cd kay tito mark abaya (inside joke) sa sunday. may appearance sila sa tower records eh. :P

*paying for the kjwan cd*
cashier: "ipasign mo 'to. darating sila dito."
me *taken by surprise*: "oh? kailan?"
cashier: "*to fellow cashier* kailan nga ba darating ang kjwan dito? sa 20."
me: "ah sige." (makes mental note to tell vicky)

oh the irony, considering that the cd isn't for me anyway :P

awit sa akin

hi.

what have you noticed?

there's a new layout. and it's green.

it features [the old] rivermaya (because bamboo is still in the pictures, see).

and it's for valentine's day.

i tried to turn it red but it didn't work anymore.

anyway.

the principal has not issued an order for us to wear red, in dlsz valentine's tradition.

why?

i have no idea.

and, it's official: dlsz is really plastic. but i guess you already knew that.

the grade 6 had rehearsals. (if you don't know the answer, raise your left hand, etc.)

anyway,

my blog today is annoyingly minimalistic --

just like my layout.

okay, that was a letdown

i guess a magic article diluted with math couldn't appeal everyone, but that article will remain forever in the annals (no malice intended) of my blogging history. so, i'll move on to a more mainstream topic.

oh, and about today's field trip, it was a big disappointment.

anyway, today's topic is yesterday's fil discussion: if you impregnated your girlfriend, would you marry her? there's also a catch: you guys aren't getting along very well. (meaning, you're having arguments before you guys are even married.) so, would you still marry her?

i wasn't able to voice my opinion (which would be redundant because wowie already summed it up in the discussion; see, we have same ideas), so here it is:

yes, i would have to marry her.

not because of any obligation, but because getting married is the only way i can keep the child she will bear. it doesn't matter if we have to argue all the time; it doesn't matter if she's such a pill; the only thing that will matter to me from the bond we share and the vows we've exchanged at the altar is the child, our legacy, someone i will raise proudly. i'll just grit my teeth and try to make it work, all for the sake of the child. i'm not like alvin who says he'll leave the mother; di ko kayang pabayaan ang aking anak. sperm cell ko yan bah; di ko kayang pabayaan yan.

that's my child, i'll raise him/her if you don't want to, thank you very much.

and i'll be a modern dad in the process. fun :P surely watching all those my wife and kids must amount to something.

contradictions

first off, if you want my atom feed, here's the link (although yaps has provided it already through his comment): http://pepseehcola.blogspot.com/atom.xml. yan. gamitin nyo sa my yahoo nyo. i used sam's atom feed to test in my yahoo.

anyway, field trip's tomorrow. marami daw bakla sa abs-cbn. we all know what happened the last time there was a gay in close contact >_< rod knows this.

this afternoon, me, leiron, rod, and mark went to the cadlum hall to have some fun (and point fingers at the third years' decks. honestly.) but then, me and rod remained to have a couple of games. at the end of the couple of games, his deck box was stolen, and we all suspected ibarra (the fat guy with a hilariously small voice, hence, we call him a goon/ogre) or his company to have stolen it (but he was the only one who went over to our table to spectate.) which was enough to make my blood simmer.

but that isn't why i'm angry.

as if by the guidance of karma (or vipaka, you miss ayen purists), ms. juanillo came and threatened them (the third years, for we packed up our cards already) to "keep them or i'll confiscate them." -- which was enough to merit a gesture of triumph from me, but she added --

"those are the same as playing cards. nakakabobo ang mga yan; you should be keeping those at home."

there are three ideas in her statement, two of which are legitimate facts (one which may be argued as a half-truth, according to the broad-worded school rules), and the other one, a mere unresearched opinion.

nakakabobo ang magic?

really?

p***** ina mo!

(sorry for cursing, but i have solid evidence to prove her statement wrong.)

there are five colors in magic; white, black, blue, green, and red. whichever color you decide to play; you will always involve math, a refined sense of logic and awareness (if you're playing black), and a good understanding of verbal and written english, because you must understand the strict rules (if you don't, i will always argue the rules with you because i have a fine understanding of them). anyway, there are cards that actually involve the use of what you have learned in class, for example:

Murderous Betrayal - BBB (that's triple black.)

Enchantment

BB, pay half your life, rounded up: Destroy target nonblack creature. It can't be regenerated.

now, let's assume your life was 19. and you want to activate this enchantment to destroy your opponent's fresh slith firewalker (you're fighting sligh, which is to say, you're fighting me). how many life points will you cough up?

you have 19 divided by 2 = 9.5. rounding up, that's 10. that's just the math in your head. here comes the logic. by now, it should be the fourth turn at the earliest; i have five mana waiting already. if you decide to activate this and cough up 10 life, you'll be left with 9 life, just enough for me to end this game with a pulse of the forge + shrapnel blast combo. is it worth it to kill a 2/2 slith?

if i were in your place, i wouldn't do it, because that would earn me a loss just to accomplish a small-term goal.

here's another one:

Frogmite - 4

Artifact Creature

Affinity for artifacts (This costs 1 less to play for each artifact you control.)

2/2

This one is really simple. Say you have three artifacts in play. 4 - 3 = 1. tap one land to play it.

want a tough one? the one that will make your head (even mine) hurt?

consider this scenario.

you are staring down four 1/1's on your opponent's side of the field. you have 10 mountains untapped, waiting for you to use them, and the creatures for one final attack to win you the game. you draw, and topdeck a fireball.

fireball is the only card that takes a while for me to compute (hence leiron's term, big red math) and i've stalled in games just to think if my mana's enough to cast a defining fireball. here's the text:

Fireball - XR (x is a variable. just like in algebra.)

Sorcery

Fireball deals X damage divided evenly, rounded down, among any number of target creatures and/or players.
As an additional cost to play Fireball, pay 1 for each target beyond the first.

even now, i don't know how this card works (rules-wise).

so, i need to deal four damage. i work out the math in my head (the ogre needs pen and paper just to keep track of his own life. bah.)

there's 1 already for the initial cost to play the spell. (10-1=9 mana left to spend)
another 1 for the first 1/1 to get hit. (9-1=8 mana left to spend)
pay 2 to deal one damage to the next 1/1. remember, 1 more for each target beyond the first. (8-2=6 mana left to spend)
pay another 2 to deal one damage to the third 1/1. (6-2=4 mana left to spend)
pay another 2 to deal the last point of damage to the last 1/1. (4-2=2 mana.)

i need to compute this data whenever i cast this spell just to see if i have enough mana to manage it.

consider the case of the arc-slogger, when i count how many cards i have left in my deck to feed it to him.

let's say someone kills my slogger and it's the only card left i can use to win. i have five mana open; just enough for 10 points of damage. catch is, does my deck have enough cards in it?

let's say that:

x = points of damage you can deal with arc-slogger.
y = number of cards in hand, z = number of cards in play, and v = number of cards in the graveyard.

(it's the method of counting before you start blasting.)

here's the equation:

sorry, the formatting jumbled it up. it's supposed to be 60 minus y + z + v, all over 10, and then multiply 2 to the quotient. see if you can make it out in the jumbled equation below.

{ 60 - ( y + z + v ) }
x = 2 { -------------------- } (my excuse for a big parentheses)
{ 10 }

to find out how many damage you can deal to the opponent.

author's note: if you've made it this far, i thank you for bearing with me in my magic article. i applaud you for reading up to this far. i also apologize for having written a novel blog, but i assure you that it is all in good intention.

now that i have presented my case, can you still say na nakakabobo ang magic? can you still say that this is eating up our minds? can you still say that it has no educational value? if so, i have more cases up my sleeve.

sorry rod, i couldn't have let it go without having my say.

anyway, thanks for reading, i'll let you know what happened in the field trip tomorrow.

sinong di aabot kapag umulan?

i've had a fun afternoon today, which involved biking downtown to buy load (which is why i can text you now, my dear sister). it rained in the middle of it, yet it was fun anyway.

anyway. as you can see, i have a new layout, and it's... red. that's right.

now, for my magic folk, i have a little game for you. you see, i have been exercising my paint shop pro abilities (more like playing around with the effects), and i've come up with three interesting images which i've censored. they're card art, and i think i mutilated them beyond recognition. see for yourself and guess what they are (clue: they all belong in the same deck)

anyway.

i want an RSS or Atom feed for this blog, but assuming that i'm the only one who'll probably use it (unless you're yaps), i won't probably need it. thankfully livejournal and blogspot (in its company layouts) have RSS feeds so i can read everyone's blogs from my bookmarks menu.

also, can someone please tell me what the difference is between RSS and Atom? if there is any.. since they do the same thing anyway.

enough geek talk :P

i guess i need to talk about something sensible. problem is, i can't. you can read the rant below; that's more sensible.

see you all tomorrow.

why are you so being ungrateful?

i figured, this topic couldn't wait until at least a few days before the actual sophomore night, but after going around, reading blogs, and discovering that most people actually don't want to go to it, i just figured i had to say something about it. after all, i am the son of my mother, who is one of the masterminds who've spearheaded this whole project.

so, most people (you guys can start here if you're a member, and read the comments from there onwards) don't want to go, because of the following reasons:

1) they have other plans, some probably made after hearing about the existence of such a party, labeling them as "scapegoats".

2) you just think the theme is so cliche and stupid. i mean, come on, "cupid's night". i know most people would cringe, but that's just a name. sort of like the initials of our dear principal.

3) it would've been boring. when i first heard that the thing would sort of play out like the grad ball, i couldn't imagine how it would go. but then i remembered, the grad ball had turned into a rave party.

4) there's word going on that since you think this whole thing was conceived by the "popular people", you would lose interest in it, since, well, you don't like what the "popular people" like. truth be told, i don't like most of what they like too, but there's this big fact on the other side that the PA conceived this too. read: the parents of the sophomore batch. they got this thing together. they asked the principal if we could have this. that isn't very easy to do, and that isn't a common occurrence.

off-topic note: you can call yourself as "unpopular" as you want to, but it wouldn't matter. you can also call yourself as "popular" as you want to, but it also wouldn't matter. my real job with this blog sometimes is to call out someone, however "popular" or "unpopular" you deem yourself, and either laud you or berate you. remember, i have freedom of speech too.

now, you may ditch the sophomore night for all i care, but let me have at least a small chance to etch this onto your minds.

last year, i don't think there was a sophomore night for last year's sophomores. this year, they'll have the prom, but that's part of tradition. i don't see freshmen night either for this year's freshmen, surprising because we had one ourselves.

but why do we actually have these parties?

wanna know why? from the grad party to the freshmen night, the PA has been collecting your entrance tickets, and the PA -- correction, our parent representatives in our case -- have been begging the principal for these nights, maybe alongside the srcc for all i know. i've said earlier that asking the principal for a night off of whatever books or assignments we're currently swimming in isn't an easy task, because he has his own reasons as well. but our parents (and maybe the srcc too) have been drilling holes in his head by begging for a party, and now that he has given in (remember last year's party, he temporarily called it off), i'm surprised that you actually want to waste their efforts. that's really rather ungrateful, and yet you wouldn't care because your mother isn't the one planning it anyway.

but at least, consider yourselves lucky because you've got titos and titas who want you to have fun, unlike the parents of other levels, the other levels who weren't given parties like these.

to those who are going, thank you for supporting the PA, who in turn, supports us. to those who are not, why didn't you speak up, and tell someone (me, at the very least) that you didn't want a party like this? my mother asked me at one point, "do you really want a sophomore night?" and what else could i answer but "yes", because i wanted one myself?

if, hopefully, i've changed your mind, you can still pay. but i'm not counting on it; i just posted this to get it out of my system.

maybe, you'll have a happy Valentine's. i'm pretty sure i will, on the cupid's night.

that was annoying -- part 2

there are so many things to blog about, i'm going to have to blog in snippets.

-[local] politics-

- looking at ysa's campaign poster, people who know her will wonder if the third picture, a close-up of her [*coughcough*abnormally large*coughcough*] boobs, is a clever campaigning ploy.

- unless i'm terribly mistaken, the absolute party is the first party in a long time not to use a stupid acronym whose words are an illogical mix that doesn't sound right when recited fully.

- i want victor's pins.

- based on word of mouth, many people are voting straight absolute, more people are voting for victor than for ysa, and some people are just plain not voting for ysa. (the third group includes myself.)

- i have no idea on who i'm voting for president, e.v.p., s.a.v.p., secretary, and treasurer. one thing's for sure though; i'm not voting for carl mamawal as he will just take home the money to the mamawal family for tita ruby to bake more oatmeal cookies. (there's a big lack on oatmeal cookies right now.)

- where is absolute's canteen campaign?

-paascu observations (or lack thereof)-

we were only observed once, on a computer time where we never even got to the computer lab. is s-b so near perfect that we should only be observed once? i don't think teacher richie would agree. ang ganda pa naman ng mga presentations niya. he's so smart, he plugged the laptop to the tv.

chris: "saksak ko kaya laptop ko sa tv ko, para maka-cs ako sa tv?"

anyway, the promised observations didn't arrive, and the use of the laptop was increased. so much for the rental comp lab chairs. they'll all have to give it back after next week (which, i learned from my brother, is the grade school's turn to be observed).

anyway, here's the best poem i've heard. ever. i now have an interest for modernistic poems.

some people are quick to believe.

okay, so i wanted to wait until monday to reveal the truth, but i couldn't wait any longer since some people, to my surprise, did believe the article i posted yesterday.

so, the truth is, the article isn't true. most (okay, actually, all) of what is on the The Onion isn't true at all. which percentage of America do you think was actually shocked to see a nude female right breast decorated with a sun ornament? only the soccer moms would be shocked, and males would've been wide-eyed, and subsequently, looking up a picture of that on the internet. besides, why would it become a shock a year later when the term "wardrobe malfunction" is now heard everywhere?

to those who believed it (you know who you are), don't be too hard on yourself. The Onion has fooled a lot of people (even me when I saw a snippet of their news on Newsweek, reporting events involving terrorists and the mythological hell of the Islam religion), but most notably, a Chinese news station. they reported that some members of U.S. government wanted a retractable roof on Capitol Hill (that's rather unaccurate, I sort of forgot the news), you know, that big building with a dome-shaped roof. guess where they found this news? that's right. The Onion.

do you actually believe there is a Near Naked Breast Disorder?

anyway, that's it. i just posted the article for kicks. i'm still ill, and i'm not motivated to go to school on monday.

i hate spyware.

exposed breast = trauma

the following article is taken from The Onion, America's Finest News Source.

---

U.S. Children Still Traumatized One Year After Seeing Partially Exposed Breast On TV

WASHINGTON, DC—As the nation approaches the one-year anniversary of the Super Bowl XXXVIII tragedy, an FCC study shows that millions of U.S. children were severely traumatized by the exposure to a partially nude female breast during the Feb. 1, 2004 halftime show.

"No one who lived through that day is likely to forget the horror," said noted child therapist Dr. Eli Wasserbaum. "But it was especially hard on the children."

The tragic wardrobe malfunction occurred approximately 360 days ago, during Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's performance of "Rock Your Body," when Timberlake tore Jackson's costume, accidentally revealing her right breast.

"By the time CBS cut to an aerial view of the stadium, the damage was done," said Wasserbaum, who has also worked extensively with orphaned and amputee children in Third World war zones. "I've found that children can be amazingly resilient, but this event was too much for many of them to take. The horrible image of that breast is likely to haunt them for the rest of their lives."

According to the 500-page report filed by the FCC, more than 90 percent of the children who saw the exposed breast said they were "confused and afraid."

"Mommy has dirty chest bumps," said a 5-year-old boy quoted in one of the thousands of case studies compiled by the FCC. "She's like the bad lady on TV. I'm afraid Mommy will take off her shirt and scare everyone. I hate Mommy."

Girls were traumatized as well, often expressing apprehensions about sexual development. According to Wasserbaum, one 8-year-old girl told her parents that she didn't "want to get evil breasts."

Wasserbaum said children of both genders associate their trauma with footballs, presumably because of the context in which they were exposed to the breast.

A great number of children who witnessed the tragedy are still plagued by nightmares of sun-shapes that recall Jackson's nipple ring. Of the infants who saw the breast, 76 percent are unwilling to breast feed or use a bottle, forcing their parents to nourish them intravenously.

"When the tragedy took place, we knew it would cause psychological trauma, but we had no idea how long the effects would last," Wasserbaum said."Our worst fears have been confirmed. It will take years to repair the damage."

Cases of deviant sexual development induced by breast-glimpsing are widespread amongst older children. Pathologies range from schoolyard exhibitionism to gender-role confusion and violent shirt-tearing.

"The FCC imposed the maximum $27,500 penalty on each of the 20 CBS-owned television stations," Wasserbaum said. "But the government offered no recompense to the individuals exposed to the breast. And neither Jackson nor Timberlake has ever specifically apolgized to the children whose lives they ruined, or donated a penny for the adolescents' psychiatric care."

Across America, parental concern over the condition doctors have dubbed Nearly Naked Breast Disorder continues to grow.

"How can my son Brandon be expected to make it through something like that unscathed?" asked mother of four Shonali Bhomik of the San Francisco-based What About the Children? Foundation, one of many social-awareness groups spearheading the fight for increased NNBD funding in Congress. "For approximately 1.5 seconds, he saw a breast. The image was seared into his innocent, tiny retinas. He can't close his eyes without replaying the whole ugly scene over and over in his little head."

"For the love of God—that breast was almost nude," Bhomik added.

Bhomik said she has concerns about her son's development.

"I shudder to think how this could affect my son once he reaches puberty," Bhomik said. "Little Brandon just wanted to watch the fun halftime show with his family. He was only 10 years old."
Bhomik is one of millions of people facing every parent's worst nightmare: that their child will see a partially exposed breast.

Wasserbaum said there is no way to predict whether the children will recover.

"One thing is certain," Wasserbaum said. "For us as a nation, the horrific consequences of almost-nakedness have only just begun to make themselves apparent."

Wasserbaum added that children who saw the televised breast in Europe, Australia, and various other nations throughout the world were somehow unaffected by the sight.

that was annoying. honestly.

finally, there's something happening at the school which, in my OPINION (there, labeled it. now you can't touch it) is more annoying than alvin (goodness that was a pain to link), is the sudden transformation of the school to adapt the frigging paascu. it's sick, it's lowly, it's desperate, and it's quite annoying as well.

i mean, look. when we came in the lab for computer today, we were amazed to find that all the monobloc chairs have been replaced by sleek, black minimalist chairs (hey, they look sexy). then, the following dialogue ensued.

paul: "sir, bakit bago na mga upuan natin?"
me and leiron: "paascu!!!"
sir pats: "why ask a question if you're going to answer it yourself?"
me and leiron: "o diba?" *high five*
sir pats: "o, that's your answer, not mine."

even sir pats is thankfully smart enough to realize that the sudden switch of furniture is a product of desperation, and is a big shame on everyone that is running this school. but it does give the comp lab a nice "internet cafe" touch.

it's also sickening how the principal is canceling our assemblies just for them, the paascu. not to be cocky, but i really want the results of the dramafest and to have it over with. as teacher edmon said, "go not for the award, but for the legacy."

and since when does the whole external look of the school become part of its system? i don't see how new paint jobs help teachers get their point across to us.

there are so many things wrong with this paascu visit. i can imagine it already; teacher sofie will stretch her smile even more to accomodate them; teacher liza will hold her temper for a while; teacher richie...well, teacher richie's a good teacher, nothing wrong with him; teacher rissa will probably stop snapping at students for two days; and us trying to get along with the program.

everything so wrong, just for a little raise in the damned tuition. oh joy, more ways to screw money from our parents and spending them on... well, you get the point.

maybe the principal will let the paascu see the real side of dlsz someday. when there's a new principal. hopefully.

anyway, let's continue to enjoy our freedom of speech and grit our teeth and pray that the whole paascu fiasco is over with, and fast. love lots, pepseeh

so many things

there are so many things to blog about today.

---

last night, me and my mom went to andrea's debut. asha, tita monsy and tito toby, and of course, andrea and tita anna's family were there (duh). i guess i failed on the beso-beso part because i pressed my lips against their cheeks *really* hard and it even hurt while kissing andrea. note to self: calm down during beso-beso.

anyway, after i spotted asha i went over to her and i got introduced to her mother, who then promised to go over to our table and introduce herself to my mother. and, arun has really neglected his hair. *applause*

we had to eat with two forks and a knife. i got myself some pasta, nachos, a taco, and some cordon bleu. i can eat those with forks (a little help from my mother, it was hard to pick rice with a fork and a knife), but the thing that bugged me was the chocolate mousse sans spoon. because i had to eat it with a fork, flakes of mousse were still left in the glass. sayang sa mousse.

*me and asha pass by the chocolate mousses before dinner*
asha: "patience, pepi."

so we were supposed to be serenaded but the yfc surprise(d) band sang a bad 214 and wag na wag (britney can really pull off a better acoustic).

and then, leiron came (all by himself) and we decided to stay outside and talk about stuff. asha's mom came to meet leiron, and then, he recounted his field trip to the principal's office for the nth time. i mixed san mig light with coke and calamansi soda because that's what i always do and i always get the same reaction because no one else is brave enough to try two different softdrinks mixed together. (why would you mix sprite and 7-up or coke and pepsi together?)

we left with tita monsy and tito toby. (o diba isaw friendships mga magulang natin)

---

and this sunday morning, i'm the one doing all the hard(er) work for our ip.

warning: rant ahead.

why is it that i'm the one doing the actual experimentation? unlike eibee's group, i, at home, am the one doing all the mixing of squid (hey, it doesn't smell so much after you've added ethyl alcohol) ink. i ask nancy why i'm the only one tasked to do the actual chemistry and she tells me that i'm the only one who knows how to do it.

tell you what, it's all guesswork.

i don't think eibee and her group really knew how to do it at the beginning, which is why we're given so many trials. i don't even know what i'm doing, and this ink ends up looking like black and gray watercolor. why not work on it together at chris's house?

you know what, forget it. it's done. leiron, don't go around boasting that we finished the whole thing, because in truth, i did the whole thing, you guys were only in charge of the whole paperwork.

and in an ironic moment, i feel guilty for leaving ryan to mix the toothpaste while i did the paperwork last year.

in the meantime, let's all enjoy our freedom of speech. ;)

nice job, dear principal.

if you read a lot of blogs, you can see that each blog is unique and two blogs are not the same. the only thing that will link them together is the fact that all blogs are expressions of human emotion and opinion, both directly or indirectly. now, if you would read someone's blog and an entry wherein they're pissed at some certain person, you would see that they're sort of ashamed to mention the person they're pissed at's name and therefore refusing to reveal his identity. if you would read my blog instead, you'd see that whenever i'm pissed at someone, i'm not shy to tell you all who that person is. (read archives for such examples.) and whenever i'm pissed at someone, i do mention his or her or its name, and sure enough, i rant. and rant. and rant. see where i'm getting at? i'm not shy to offend anyone i'm mad at. and surely, so do other bloggers.

some people don't or don't even try to understand and grasp this concept. they just think that they can change whatever they saw that offended them with a simple statement, flick of a wrist, and a snap of the finger.

the story of how leiron was summoned to the principal's office has spread like wildfire for the past few days. this week, we've never had a recess or lunch time without at least one person asking him "what happened?" he's so traumatized whenever he hears the name "alfred", he's somewhat exaggerating his story (natikman daw ang bawal na prutas), and frankly, he's decided to quit blogging.

now, dear principal, see what you just did? by intervening in a person's train of emotional thought, in the process of requesting him to delete what you deem contraband, you broke his faith in the great online journal. his will to blog has been lost, and you lower the total SB blog count to 17.

asha, on the other hand, has only intensified security. not bad.

anyway, you sir, are a total wart. you say our blogs spread propagandic material, i say that we didn't need blogs in the first place to start propaganda. you say we're unfair, i say you can even out the playing field by insulting us in turn. (hey, it's a free world, floyd.) you say you're not happy with this, and obviously, i say that, as the author of this blog, i am bursting with joy.

wow, this layout is beautiful...

...and it takes me back to the summer before freshman year, but i don't want to get back into reminisce mode again so soon.

anyway.

leiron was summoned to the principal's office yesterday, and the dear principal talked to him about his blog, and to the specific entry about the "private lounge behind the mirror in the boy's dressing room". man, that was smart. i applaud leiron for that.

okay, there's one thing, that's disrespect. but there's also the other thing, leiron (or me, or anyone else who just blogged about the principal, given that you blog in blogger, blogdrive, livejournal, or your own personal site) didn't do it in any school-controlled server. he did that on blogger, which is not owned by dlsz, dlsu, not even the philippine government. and by doing so, he just exercised the right to freedom of speech, which is a human right etched in stone and sitting smugly in the constitution.

so, the principal does not have any right to throw a case at leiron or myself at all. there was never an offense written in the students' handbook about "speaking your mind and plastering it all over the internet, or the tv, or the radio, or a non-school publication. anyway, he does, however, have the right to be depressed and cry tears in his pink pillow.

yaps: "mag-aabugado ka ba?"
me: "hindi. i just know my rights."

okay, in fairness, the principal can do the same anyway. he can just make a blog and post nasty things about us students if he wants to. the internet is free, anyone can have his or her own propaganda.

in closing, when it comes to people, and their blogs with their personal opinions about you and how they hate you so much, dear principal, you can't see us.

three. two. one.

-reminisce mode-

reminisce - rem·i·nisce (rm-ns) intr.v. rem·i·nisced, rem·i·nisc·ing, rem·i·nisc·es To recollect and tell of past experiences or events. (courtesy of dictionary.com) / Reminisce - 2U (Sorcery) : Target player shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library. (ON-U) (courtesy of apprentice)

reminisce to when: summer before grade 6
what was i playing back then: smackdown! 2 (know your role), street sk8er 2, tony hawk 2, wild arms 2, final fantasy tactics, final fantasy IX, counter-strike, starcraft (was playing with stardraft), and a bit of marvel vs. capcom.

i'd also quit magic only to find that i would be playing it again three years later.

yesterday, i rediscovered what it feels like to have the wind touching your face as you speed idly by the village. i've relearned how to ride the bike (but it's not like i forgot how to) and i learned to love it once more.

as i was speeding laps over the village circuit (i live in a small subdivision in sta. rosa, laguna. it's called a province, and it's pretty windy outside.) i took myself back in my mind which has an internal tv (and an internal radio whose playlist seems to surprise me all the time, really), to a time when i signed in as lombardia from playing too much wild arms, when i was having fun with the loop in mexico, when i along with my brother and cousin could walk several meters downtown to have two hours of CS (with a screen name of The_One and/or Ifrit) and prancing around de_dust/cs_mexico/de_dust2/cs_militia/cs_italy (memz!!!), and when i could actually play starcraft online from my old laptop thru battle.net. yes, those were the memories.

i truly remember the fragfests we would have in de_dust (the most popular level in CS. evarrr) or cs_italy (because there was a singing tenor in the background) and the changing of tactics (most of us preferred to have an arctic for sniping, but i can actually kill with a steyr scout with 2-3 shots to the head) and the popular kutsilyohan under/near the bridge.

now if only i could get to a netopia without people playing an MMORPG. i want to frag.

boobs sell games.

i was perusing the GamesMaster issue i bought at the airport, and i saw the FFXII preview on it, and i thought upon seeing the girl lead character.

i'll make like a smart blogger/gamer and tell you that if you would buy any game on any console from any video game shop, i can automatically tell you that if it isn't Gran Turismo (Ridge Racer has those racegirls), there would be a woman character in that game, scantily dressed, and sporting d-cups or more.

so, am i right, or am i right?

i should be. let's start counting:

1. final fantasy VII to present. dah.
2. rod's mage.
3. starcraft. believe it or not, kerrigan IS a babe. and look at starcraft ghost.
4. tekken. all hail ling xiaoyu.
5. the infamous dead or alive series.
6. warcraft. oooh, jaina.
7. grand theft auto III to present. although i have to admit, candy suxxx is a bit blocky.
8. soul calibur. hello, taki. hello, ivy.
9. bmx xxx. honestly, would i leave that out?
10. mortal kombat.

special mention: on the local scene, there's anito and the lead character maya.

and i haven't even scratched the surface yet.

women and their bodies have been haplessly exploited by game companies in their advertisements just to rocket their games off the retailer's shelf. well, it seems to work.

but the point was, hast thou no respect?

no one else listened to me, when i said that "we are THAT damn good."

i said it before and i was dissed by fozzy and hans. i said it before and i was told off for being too cocky. i said it before and i almost came close to regretting it. so now that me, the whole of s-b, and everyone else in the audience witnessed and gave us due credit, i'll say it again.

we are THAT damn good.

go on, throw the first stone. ;)

best of 2004

[belated] happy new year, everyone ;)

apologies for not having blogged for the past week. unbeknownst to me, there are some people who want me to blog/go online. well. i'm in the library, so isn't that pathetic.

anyway, there's this best of 2004 list that was undulating up in my head for the past few days which in i haven't blogged ever.

starting from the earliest i can snatch from my memories:

concerts. here's an urban legend: six people were playing magic at the orchestra room one day, when they were pulled out of class for tech rehearsal. they were all getting along happily, when suddenly and rather sneakily, the school's homosexual principal burst in the door and entered the room where the six magic players and two or so texters were staying. and so, he went off to ask the people what was going on, and the people replied the obvious response. and he was kind enough to confiscate the cellphones the non-magic players were using. so what was the urban legend part there? well, in order to get the cellphone back, the [male] owner must swallow, if you catch my drift.

[playing] in graduation. this is memz with julian only. we translated the whole pomp and circumstance for alto sax, given that i was the only alto sax present. jackie would've been the only clarinet present, but that other clarinet got in the way. lol. this was also the part where sir fajardo would actually leave us in the middle of the whole thing, and here's a quote to boot:

"your conductor abandoned ship!" - mrs. valencia

#galitjanvit. i really would like to say "need i say more?" but it's just too good to pass up. the field of dreams; the battleground of hearts; the movement against gays; the strengthening of friendships; those are all the things this once-legendary chatroom once symbolized. (what the heck, who am i kidding?) really, it was just something i started, and it was the chatroom of you, me, julian, jam, vicky, leiron, rod, and other assorted people. it was our summer pastime before we (among other people) discovered ym. (honestly.)

vacation in states. the thing that would most probably symbolize my vacation in the u.s. is the spongebob doll vicky has right now. (because i bought it for her in universal studios. but hey, i have another spongebob sitting at home.) i do remember setting my internal alarm clock to wake up at 3-4 a.m. in pacific time just to chat with everyone. i would wake up, check the digital clock, and haul (sometimes, i would crawl) my ass with my blanket, holding my dog tags just so that they won't clink unnecessarily, and move my way to the computer and turn on irc or ym. i did buy maroon 5 over there. problem is, i left the case in my tita's highlander. all i have is the cd.

first day of classes. not much, but the start of a new school year.

intrams. suffice it to say, i couldn't express this one enough. we should have been second place. you do not award second place to a group that has janvit in it. joking. all hilarity aside, i (and probably, other people) felt that we were working hard enough and balancing the scales of the gagu-gaguhan and the seryoso concepts of the dance too carefully to be awarded a mere third place. and, i really wanted to participate in the inter-batch. we were third place. bullshit. sam, thanks for running [just] to see our dance. i appreciate it. :P

act iv. "milady, she's dead! she's f.. *pause* dead!" yes, that's what we heard.

afternoon delight. honestly, before and when i stepped onstage, i never would've imagined that the auditorium would be packed. well, maybe because of the lack of activity outside, but there were a lot of supporters. (hi sir lasap and ms. rogador, sitting together in the right) but there was this nice bonding session before going onstage. "don't touch me!"

christmas party. the actual party in the s-b classroom was boring. but you have to hand it to leiron to become nervous with giving his gift, an [unwrapped] ferrero prestige pack. (it has ferrero, mon cheri, and that other sort of ferrero wrapped in silver). me? i just gave two balls and a bell of ferrero. (it took one person days to finish the whole thing, and another person just a single sitting to finish it all. can you guess who they are?)

okay, so that's my "best of 2004" blog. if i've missed anything, feel free to cast the first stone and tell me what memz lolz i have undeliberately missed.

love lots, pepseh ;)
